Playa Maspalomas is the southern extension of Playa del Inglés, with which it shares the spectacular dune landscape in the south of the island.
A unique natural landscape.
The name is used from a promontory and ends at the lighthouse Faro de Masplomas. Here is also an oasis, which is one of the most important protected areas of the island. It has a unique brackish water zone where varying salinity, flora and fauna have adapted accordingly. Directly behind is a large natural palm grove.
Bathing in the open sea.
The Maspalomas beach has a length of around 3km. In the area of the oasis there is a shallow reef. This section is also very suitable for surfing and it builds up, especially in winter sometimes a very high swell. In winter, the area also occasionally offers very good windsurfing conditions. The rest of the beach has very fine fine golden sand and it runs flat into the sea and is very well suited for swimming, but please also take note of the local ads with the flags. The beach is supervised by lifeguards.
Very popular with nudists and meeting place for gay men.
The beach has several kiosks and plenty of beach chairs that you can rent on site. The area is cleaned regularly and there are showers and toilets. It is suitable for people with disabilities and there are also areas for nude bathing as well as a special area that is very popular with gay men.
Many beach bars.
Right on the beach there is a shopping center with numerous bars, restaurants, ice cream parlors and shops. The parking on the beach is very limited, but free. About 400 meters away, there are also two parking areas. The beach can also be reached very well with various bus lines.
